Hope Haven started in April of 2012 with a few classes of preschool students under a tree. We saw a need for education in the community of Murindi and wanted to help by providing education for students who otherwise would not have been able to attend school. Since then, we have grown to a school of over 2,000 students in preschool through secondary school. Our focus remains on providing educational opportunities for students whose families struggle with poverty.
Our Mission
Hope Haven Christian School transforms students and their families through Christ-centered education and discipleship with uncompromising excellence, shaping the future of Rwanda and stewarding Christian world leaders
Enrollment
Hope Haven does not have an open enrollment policy.
Most of our students are hand-selected from families in the surrounding community and begin school at age three, continuing through each grade level with very few transferring out. Because classroom space is limited, we focus on serving students from economically and sociologically challenging backgrounds.
For families seeking enrollment in Senior 1, please email your child’s P6 report card and a brief statement of need to Enrollment@hopehavenchristianschool.org. If selected for consideration (which is not a guarantee of admittance), your child will take an entrance exam at Hope Haven in July after PLE testing. A non-refundable exam fee applies. Once PLE scores are available, please submit them as well. Families will be notified the week before classes begin if their child is admitted.
A very limited number of spots are available in Senior 4 each year. Applicants must submit S1–S3 grade reports and will only be considered if they have an average above 80%.
Please do not contact Hope Haven staff or administration about enrollment. Only applications submitted through the outlined process will be reviewed.
The application and testing process for the 2025-2026 academic year is closed. We are not accepting any new applications at this time.
Tuition and Fees
Tuition and fees are charged for every student at Hope Haven.
The amount varies depending on grade level and family income. More details will be provided upon acceptance, and an agreement must be signed before the academic year commences. Amounts due must be paid in advance of each term. Past due accounts will result in students not being allowed to attend school.
Our Vision
Hope Haven Christian School forges a future where our Christian community leads the flourishing of Rwanda and influences the world
