Central Florida Dreamplex

Ordinary Sports for Extraordinary People

The Central Florida Dreamplex began as a simple idea to open an ice rink to provide new entertainment and athletic options for the city of Clermont, FL.  When united with FAITH, the idea evolved to reach and serve a much wider community.  The building project expanded to accommodate multiple functions and users.  Therapy and rehabilitation services could be offered for pediatrics, athletes, the disabled, and the elderly.  Athletic programs could be available for disabled individuals.  Partnerships could be formed with other local and national non-profit groups to unite the community and bring hope to thousands of individuals who at times can feel forgotten.

As we raise funds to build and open this facility, classes and leagues are available in the following activities:

-Ballet/Dance  -Tae Kwon Do  -Gymnastics/Tumbling  -Wheelchair Basketball  -Power Soccer  -Sitting Volleyball

This video portrays the various athletic and rehabilitative programs that we hope to one day offer at the Dreamplex:

About the Dreamplex

The Dreamplex will include two NHL-size hockey rinks with a snack bar, pro shop, party rooms, and spectator seating for approximately 500 (each rink).  Public skating, ice hockey, figure skating lessons, broomball and much more will be offered.  The ice rinks will also be used during the day for therapeutic and rehabilitative purposes.  One rink will convert to indoor field turf during the summer months to allow for box lacrosse and indoor soccer.

The latest technology in aquatic therapy and rehabilitation will be provided through the availability of two therapeutic pools.  These pools will be used for pediatric, athletic, and geriatric therapies.  They will be equipped with underwater treadmills, resistive jets, and elevator-style entrances.  A spa will be included to offer massage therapy.  Indoor racquetball courts and a karate and dance room will also be available for public use.  Finally, a food court and arcade will overlook the ice rink, giving visitors a perfect view of the ice surface as they eat and play.

While the general able-bodied public will be welcome to enjoy this facility, what will set it apart are its programs for the disabled population.  Sled hockey, wheelchair and amputee soccer, and Miracle League baseball are just some of the unique uses of the ice rinks and indoor field.

A unique fitness center will be available for the disabled community only.  Specialized equipment will make staying active and healthy a real possibility.  Multi-purpose basketball and volleyball courts will be used for wheelchair basketball and sitting volleyball.  We intend to partner with and open the facility to the Special Olympics, Paralympics, and any other group/organization that shares this passion for this special group of individuals.  Through fitness and play, Central Florida Dreamplex will promote independent lifestyles that will help our young adults achieve their dreams.
